The Horse: Marwari - the desert horse of Rajasthan. Young horses are bought and reared in the hills. His dexterity in negotiating the narrow bridle paths in the hills - every manoeuvre so safe and simple, has to be experienced to be believed.

The Characteristics: The Marwari has a beautiful head crowned by perky lure shaped ears meeting at the tips. In line with his desert elements when asked he provides a very smooth and fast ride.

The area : Nainital is situated in the Kumaon hills where thick wooded hills, snow capped mountains in the distance and clear pine scented air were a respite from the hot steamy plains.

It was here that Col. James Edward Corbett was born. His love for the richness of the region and sensitivity to the miseries of the simple hill folk, were to shape his life as a courageous hunter of the man-eating tigers & leopards that plagued the villagers. Later on he became a visionary conservationist and author.

Corbett National Park is rightfully named after the man who was instrumental in its creation. It is here that the first three non days of riding are spent. With Jeeps and Elephants as modes of transport, one gets an excellent opportunity to examine, survey and enjoy the diverse flora and fauna of the Park.

The Forest Lodge and Tiger Camp provide sumptuous meals, clean comfortable bed and bath and an ambience that matches the wilderness. The first phase of the ride is easy, through thick peripheral reserve forests of Sal. Canter or gallop on the soft tracks and the opportunity to stop and examine whatever catches your fancy, is always there. Camping sites provide all the magic of the Jungle, the nocturnal sounds, bright lit skies and tales around a crackling camp fire, all make a heady cocktail.

The second phase of the ride begins the ascent into the hills. It provides the thrilling adventure of an uphill climb on narrow bridle paths, breathtaking views across growing hills, valleys and gorges and the changing vegetation at every turn. The Lodge at Pangot provides great comfort after a good days riding. The descent into Betalghat is equally dramatic.

Sturdy, well - maintained horses are nothing new to the visitors but a few could have taken such long trips on horse - backs. Conditions are similar to camel safaris with grooms accompanying. We do undertake such tours in Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. There are bonfires and entertainment provided by folk entertainers on the way. A tiring but exhilarating experience.

Day 01 - Arrive - Bangalore

On arrival transfer to hotel. Afternoon city tour covering Lalbagh & Vidhan Soudha etc. Overnight at hotel.

Day 02 - Bangalore - Mysore (139 kms)

Morning drive to Mysore, On arrival check in into hotel. Afternoon city tour. Overnight at hotel.

Day 03 - Horse Safari

0600hrs: Pick up from the hotel and drive to Srirangapattana: base for the Horse safari. Upon arrival tea / coffee will be served.

0730hrs: Start the safari and proceed to Rampura halting for breakfast. Enjoy the pastoral life meeting people and getting acquainted with customs and rituals.

1030hrs: Move to Darasguppe, on arrival have lunch and rest.

1400hrs: Move towards Rajanehalli, On arrival freshen up & enjoy evening tea / coffee.

1800hrs: Proceed to enjoy the sight of the terraced Brindavan Gardens featuring swirling & musical fountains illuminated by colorful lights giving it an effect of fairy land at night

2000 hrs: Return to the camp for dinner and campfire, where entertainment is provided by local talents.

Day 04 - Horse Safari

0700 hrs: After morning tea / coffee proceed to Balmuri Fall, breakfast on arrival and one can also relax / enjoy the water falls.

1000 hrs: Proceed to Ranganthittu bird sanctuary. Upon arrival have lunch and relax. Visit the bird sanctuary, which is an abode for migratory birds like bill stock, white ibis, Little Egrests etc. from Siberia, Australia and North America. Leave for Srirangapattana after evening tea / coffee is served.

Day 05 - Madikeri

Today drive to Madikeri, a place that is called as the "Scotland Of India". On arrival set yourself in the hotel, refresh yourself and come with us to visit Madikeri Fort, Abbey Falls, Nisargadhama - Known for its calm, serene beauty, this place is an ideal picnic spot visited by hundreds of tourists throughout the year. Overnight at hotel.

Day 06 - Madikeri

Day free to explore the surroundings, Overnight at hotel.

Day 07 - Madikeri - Hassan

Have your breakfast and head towards the destination, which has it all. Hassan. On arrival set and refresh into hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Day 08 - Hassan - Belur & Halebid - Hassan

Take an excursion to Belur & Halebid: a beautiful example of Hoyasala's architecture. Overnight at hotel in Hassan.

Day 09 - Hassan - Shravanabelagola - Bangalore

Today drive to Bangalore enroute visiting the splendour of Shravanbelgola: One of the most important Jain pilgrim centres. On arrival check into hotel. Evening free to relax. Overnight at hotel.

Day 10 - Departure Bangalore

Transfer to Airport to connect International flight.

Srirangapattana - Ranganthittu Bird Sancturay - Balmuri falls - (01 Day)

0600hrs - Pick up from hotel in Mysore and drive to Srirangapattnaa where Horse Safari is based. Upon arrival tea/coffee will be served.

0730hrs Start the Safari on horseback, enroute enjoying the serene beauty of nature, 0900hrs - Arrive Ranganthittu bird sanctuary at 0900 hours. Have breakfast and then on to see the bird sanctuary which is an abode for migratory birds from Siberia, Australia and North America.

1300hrs Proceed to Balmuri falls enroute visiting Belogola, arrive and have lunch. Enjoy yourself at waterfall where you can also enjoy the coral ride depending on the level of water. After evening Tea / Coffee. Return to Srirangapattnna on Horse back or else by road straight to Mysore.

Mysore - Nandi Bull - Lalithadir - Utnahalli - (01 Day) 0730hrs - Leave Mysore on horse back to Nandi Hill. Where one sees a Nandi temple with Nandi statue at the entrance. Have breakfast and take rest for a while. Also enjoy the aerial view of the most beautiful Mysore Palace, and the city. Further move to Lalithadir from the other side of Nandi Hill. Halt for lunch and rest. Later move back to Mysore visiting Uttnahalli enroute.
