Manas-Kaziranga-Nameri
DAY 01 Arrive, Kolkatta ,check in Hotel
Day 02 Transfer to airport
Arrive Guwahati airport and drive to Manas 225 kms / 5 hrs drive. Overnight at Bansbari Lodge.
The only Tiger Project in Assam, Manas is one of India's most magnificent
National Parks. It is situated on the bank of the river Manas at the foothills
of the Himalayas. It is a well known World heritage site with it's unique
combination of scenic beauty and rare wealth of wildlife.
Covering an area of 519.77 Sq. Kms, it has a core area of 360 Kms and is situated
in Barpeta District. Manas is one of the nine tiger reserve sanctuaries in
India. Tigers however are not the only wildlife to be found here. Manas has
its own peculiar faunal features, the rarest species of which are Hispid Hare,
Pigmy Hog, Golden Langur, Indian Rhinoceros, Asiatic Buffalo etc. Other commonly
seen animals are Elephant, Leopard, Clouded Leopard, Himalayan Bear, Wild
Boar, Sambar, Swamp Deer, Hog Deer etc. Hundreds of the winged species migrate
to the friendly climate of Manas during winter. Among them are River chats
(White Capped Red stars), Fork tails, Cormorants and various types of ducks
including the Ruddy Shelduck. The woodland birds are no less charming and
include the Indian Hornbill and the Great Pied Hornbill.
Manas is 176 kms from Guwahati by road. The nearest airport is Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport at Guwahati. The nearest railhead is Barpeta Road Station which is 40 kms away from Manas.
DAY 03
Early morning elephant safari then return for breakfast. After breakfast village
tour & nature walk. Afternoon Jeep Safari.. Overnight at Bansbari Lodge.
DAY 04
Early morning Jeep Safari after breakfast. Lunch at Mothanguri (end of the
Park). Afternoon return to lodge. Overnight at Bansbari Lodge.
DAY 05
Drive to Nameri National Park (340 kms / 7 hrs drive). Overnight at Eco-Camp.
Situated at the foot hills of eastern Himalayas, Nameri National Park covers an area of about 200 sq. km. Hills, deciduous forests and the river Jia Bhoroli have all added a unique charm to it.
It is about 35 km. from Tezpur town which is 181 km. from Guwahati.The nearest airport is Salonibari(Tezpur). Many wildlife species are found here such as the Tiger, Elephant, Leopard, Indian Bison, Sloth Bear, Himalayan Black Bear, Pangolin, Indian Wild Dog, Civet Cat, Capped Langur etc.
Nameri is a haven for bird watchers which include the most endangered White Winged Wood duck, four species of Hornbill in abundance, the small and beautiful Scarlet Minivet, to name a few. Many species of reptiles are also found in this National Park.
It is an entomologist's paradise. A huge variety of different butterflies and moths are found here. Atlas Moth with a wing span of more than 10 inches has also been spotted here.
DAY 06
Early morning nature walk. Return to camp for breakfast. After breakfast rafting
on Jia Bhoroli river with picnic lunch. Overnight at Eco-Camp.
DAY 07
Morning at leisure. After lunch drive to Kaziranga (120 kms / 2 hrs drive).
Overnight at Bon Habi resort.
The first and the oldest National Park in Assam situated in Golaghat District, is a World Heritage site. Spread over an area of 430 sq. kms., Kaziranga National Park is the natural home of the one-horned Indian rhinoceros.
Declared a National Park in 1974 the landscape of Kaziranga is of sheer forest, tall elephant grass, rugged reeds, marshes and shallow pools.
The one horned Rhinoceros, Elephant, Indian bison, Swamp Deer, Samber, Hog Deer, Sloth Bear, Tiger, Leopard cat, Jungle cat, Hog badger, Capped langur, Hollock gibbon, Jackal, Goose, Hornbills, Ibis, Cormorants, Egret, Heron fishing eagle etc. all form a part of the very complex ecological balance of the park.
During winter a large number of migratory birds are also seen here.
DAY 08
Early morning elephant safari (1st ride: 5.30am to 6.30 am or 2nd ride: 6.30am
to 7.30am, wake-up call half an hour before the ride). Return to lodge for
breakfast. After breakfast Jeep safari. Return to lodge for lunch. After lunch
Jeep safari. Overnight at bon habi.
DAY 09
AM & PM: Game drive. Overnight at Bon Habi
DAY 10
AM & PM: Game drive. Overnight at Bon Habi
DAY 11
After breakfast drive to Guwahati airport to connect flight to Kolkatta.Overnight
Oberoi
Day 12
Transfer to international Airport
The Tour include transportation by Tata Sumo, accommodation in two rooms through
out for Eleven nights, all meals starting with Dinner on DAY 01 and ending
with breakfast on DAY 12, one elephant safari and two rounds of Jeep Safari
in Manas National park including Park entry fees, cost of raft hiring charge
including boatmen fees and park entry fees in Nameri National Park, one elephant
safari including six rounds of Jeep Safari and Park entry fees in Kaziranga
National Park, guide/escort throughout the trip.
