The lately opened mountain
road from Leh in Ladakh to Manali provides undoubtedly one
of the greatest road journeys in the world. Linking
Budhist Ladakh and the tribal areas of Lahaul with the
fertile Kulu valley, the road traverses the greater
Himalayas over a series of famous passes with the Taglang
La at 360 mtrs being the second highest in the world.
Dividing through some unbelievably wild scenery, the views
from the top of these passes are truly stunning. The
mountain & river valleys of Sikkim & the eastern
Himalayas shelter an incredible variety of Orchids, fern
butterflies & the birds. In springtime, entire slopes
are blaze with pink & white rhododendron& magnolia
blooms. Dominated by Kanchenjunga, the third highest
mountain in the world, these fertile valleys are to
colourful mix of Tibetans, Nepalese Tribal Lepchas, and
Indo Tibetan, Bhotias &Bengalis from the tropical
