Marble Rocks City
Situated in the banks of Narmada River Jabalpur is an ancient town. It was the seat of Gond Kings and monument dating to 10th century AD still remain. Rani Durgawati the legendary queen ruled Jabalpur City with Garha as its seat of rule.
Subsequently Jabalpur was preferred by the British for its natural beauty and favorable climate. The British established cantonment here and Pachmarhi Hill was there summer retreat. The ample forest lands were the favorite hunting grounds in those days.
Jabalpur is a bustling metropolis with a population of over two million. The city is the seat of High Court in Madhya Pradesh. The Railway HQ for Central Zone, defense factories and MPEB are some of the major public sector undertaking in this city. The Army has a substantial presence in the town besides para military forces like ITBP, Home Guard are also stationed here.
The Jabalpur Railway Station is well connected with all major cities and over a vast network. The airport is connected to Mumbai and New Delhi and with Indore and Bhopal. The metro bus service covers the entire extant of the city along with metro taxi service.
The entertainment sector comprises of cinema halls, theaters, malls, cafes, restaurants and resorts. There are many health centers and gymnasium for the health conscious.
There are many luxury and budget hotels in Jabalpur for accommodation. Most of the luxury hotels are of three star category. There are some cheap guest houses also available for a stay. There are plenty of restaurants in Jabalpur but Chinese Joints are the best and renowned all over India.
